...and most of the people that live on it. I'm browsing around on YouTube watching videos of dogs and animals being goofy and doing what it is they do, make life worth living. Then I come across this video that someone took of a dog dragging itself along the ground because its spine had been injured. They did nothing to help it, did nothing to ease its suffering, just video taped it and put it on the internet as some sort of spectacle. The worst part, they then made excuses as to why they couldn't, shouldn't, or wouldn't help it.
It's people like this that make this world not worth living in. There is no excuse as to why you should never give any living creature any aid that is within your power to give. This is especially true for animals as this is their world, not ours. They were here long before we were, we just came along and fucked up their yard and took over the playground like the bullies we are. Ever wonder what the world would be like if we weren't around? It would be a paradise is what it would be. Nature, perfectly in balance and all things coexisting in their own capacity.
I hate watching these videos. I am not afraid to admit that when I come across a video of some animal being neglected, abused, in pain, or something similar that I cry big fat sloppy tears. It quite literally breaks my heart and shatters it as I am left with nothing but impotent rage at the people that would do this.
Was there a point to this? Yea. Nature gave us these gifts to enjoy and protect, not to abuse and destroy. If we can't live in harmony with nature, can we not at least protect what she gave us that brings joy to our lives.
